Sanctuary Hosting is a small Oxford-based charity working across the Thames Valley to match homeless refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants with people who offer a rent-free spare room for an agreed period of time.

We are now looking for someone to help us to expand and consolidate the service in the Reading area.

The aim is to raise awareness of Sanctuary Hosting’s service, receive more referrals of suitable guests, find new hosts and support workers, and attract regular givers. The post holder will also support existing volunteer hosts and support workers in the area. Activities will include meeting new volunteers, carrying out interviews and working to ensure hosting placements are safe and running smoothly.

As well as having an in depth knowledge of the Reading area and its statutory and voluntary services, you will need a strong sense of initiative, the ability to make and develop new contacts, and an empathy for the situation of sanctuary seekers.

This is a part-time post for 16 hours a week for six months. Salary £21,000 pro rata. The deadline for applications is 5pm Monday 27 May 2019, with interviews on Tuesday 4th June 2019.
